Modifications are a means to an end - your knowledge of the sound you want and my experience combined can help you get that elusive tone.  Visit me with your guitar and amp and we'll talk music.

Got hum problems?  Click here to see what I can do with screening.  Or consider Hot Noiseless pups - Jeff Beck uses them.

Typical mods include wiring your Stratocaster so that all three pickups play at the same time - this gives a huge range of tonal possibilities as well as offering the ability to play neck and bridge pups simultaneously.

You might want to think about blocking the tremolo block - I can do this with hardwood blocks which add masses of crystal-clear ring.  Think too about a high-mass trem block if you want to retain the floating trem - or go the whole hog and have me fit a Callaham tremolo imported from the States just for you.

I can also offer advice about pickup replacements to help you achieve the tone you seek - I have years of experience of listening to pickups in various configurations and I will happily fit these for you.  Have you thought about EMG active pups?

But, there are some basic investments you can make in your guitar - particularly those from the Far East.  Most mass-produced guitars come with switches and controls which inevitably cause problems before long - often not long after the warranty expires.  Replacing switches and pots with quality makes and, perhaps, at the same time to use screened cables and quiet earthing, will give you a quality instrument which you can depend on.  It's what I do.
