Are the times a'changin?
Do I hear more guitarists looking for a more bluesy sound these days? Something a little less in your face than ten years ago? Perhaps. I'm sure I see more Les Pauls than I used to and more players seeking the authority which comes most typically from humbuckers.
This isn't to suggest that humbuckers are mud buckets without sparkle - listen to Jimmy Page. But there does seem to be a trend in working guitarists away from the sometimes edgy sound of, for example, the Telecaster.
Stratocasters don't have to think about selling their beloved instruments - there are a variety of pickups and set-ups which can bring strats astonishingly close to a humbucker-equipped instrument.
Come by for a coffee and chat.
Best wishes
